Our Mission

Recruiting Mentors To Save a Generation

The North Valley LA County CARES Mentoring Movement (NVLACC) is sending a call to action to every able and caring adult to help end the crisis in our community by mentoring our young people who are at risk. NVLACC we encourage local leaders to raise awareness of the need and benefits of mentoring, as well as recruit mentors for organizations that provide mentoring and other youth-support services. We target the needs of African American youth, who are greatly overrepresented on long waiting lists for mentors. Unfortunately, Black adult mentors are grossly underrepresented as volunteers for the youngsters in the Black community. NVLACC works to fill the pipelines of local organizations with caring  men and women.

Our primary vision of the NVLACC is to recruit, train and connect mentors annually with vetted youth organizations serving youth in underserved communities within the Northern Valley of Los Angeles County.

In addition, to work with partnering mentoring organizations to facilitate culturally rich and evidence based success models for transforming the lives of vulnerable young people.
